Andrew's National Disgrace

I  know I have been working too much, because back on July 28  I missed this awe-inspiring post by my bloggy buddy Andrew in Scotland. For those of you who think the deep-fried Mars Bar is a figment of my imagination, well, I direct you to Andrew's post!

PS: Why, oh why, is one of today's top search keywords "free flickr men butt cracks"????

  1. Ah Andrew's post was an object lesson I wonder if fair goers in the deep south would go for it

  2. Should I have ever experience a craving for a deep fried Mars bar, Andrew's post put them to bed once and for all :)

Prefer my Mars bars straight out of the wrapper...nice and clean :)

  3. Fighting windmills and colons followed by a square bracket close seems not to be challenging enough a quest for the esteemed DonQuiscottie.
The Mars it must be nowadays. Ahem.

Hang on, hang on... Before I get an undeserved international reputation... I've tried it once (in a life of 56 years) and I clearly stated it was for research purposes only. Although it was a rather nice fish and chips restaurant looking out over the bay, and I do feel that next time we visit Oban further research may well be undertaken (well, I am a thotough researcher and their limited dessert menu has only Donuts with cream (Yuk), Ice cream (Pah, barely a dessert at all), or The National Disgrace. The main meals menu has a nice scallops option though, that we may go for next time, shared between us with a traditional fish and chips. You see, it's all planned out already. Bring it on, come October (I expect).

"thotough" Eh... "thorough" sorry. A thorough researcher but a careless commenter

Oh, and re the popularity of "free flickr men butt cracks", PLEASE be assured that this was not my activity responsible this time (especially not in combination with the "prickly cucumber" - if I remember correctly - of a previous time).

  7. There is not much to admire on this planet except of the esteemed Mr. Scott's marsesque taciturnity.

  8. Jams, Andrew's next mission should be a deep-fried TWinkie!

Vanilla Bean, to each her own, eh? I would be wiling to try one of these heart attacks on a plate, ONCE! :)

Sean, "Don QUiscottie", I love that!

Andrew, yum, FISH AND CHIPS! But I love scallops too. And really, The National Disgrace is the only dessert worth having in Oban, apparently.

  9. Right, Andrew, you must therefore be responsible for the keyword search "engorged tick massachusetts!"

Well yes, but that's clearly a perfectly reasonable search for a man in Scotland.

And re Don QuiScottie (and his trusty sidekick Seanso), perhaps I need a summary on my blog of the history of our noble quest(s) since it and they developed on my previous dear dead blogs. But no, I shall just leave it all as a puzzling puzzle, as puzzles often are, for people to ponder. Dulcinea awaits me now... just as soon as I have settled Rocinante and checked that Seanso has enough beer to see him through another night
