Little cuties!

Look what I found in our cedar hedge yesterday:

Baby robins! And those little guys are almost ready to fledge.

Spring has sprung. Now if only the rainy, crappy weather would improve!

  1. Now I am worried about them seeing the weather we are having and will have for the weekend. I hope they are ok. What a find!

  4. They look healthier than the ones I was trying to save last weekend. Let's just hope their feathers are waterproof!

  6. Awww! Love it! We had a robin build her nest here two years in a row. First year was on the beam under the front porch and last year was on the beam under the back deck. This year, I looked under all the beams front and back and sadly, they have decided to build elsewhere. I miss taking pictures of the nest, her eggs, and her beautiful little babies. Enjoy.

  7. Deb, they are fine and they have fledged! One leapt out of a bush and landed at my feet yesterday, then scurried off. I can see why fledglings have such a high mortality rate. Not the brightest lights!

  8. Ronna, I am beyond sick of this crappy weather!

Katnip, it's amazing how they squeeze in there, isn't it?

Evlyn, they look great. I am keeping an eye out for them in the garden now that they have fledged.

Andrew, they would have EATEN that.

Paula, they might still be around! Ours used to nest in a bush near our front porch, but their nest was invaded by a red squirrel that killed the babies. :( After that, they moved into the hedge. We have some that nest in our barn, too.
