I meant to post these earlier. My mother-in-law came for a visit on Easter weekend, and our friend Chloe Ann kindly took us all out for a wonderful horse and buggy ride! It was one of the few sunny days in April...
Nova is a beautiful horse! She is a Canadian (breed, not nationality!)
A good time was had by all!
Later we went for a stroll around the Mill Pond in our nearby town of Alexandria, and I took a photo of Gordon and his Mom. We had a happy weekend!
You bring back so many memories of my summers, as a child, in the Laurentides. Horse and buggy rides to the church every Sunday. No other cabs to take us around in those picturesque villages. It was so much fun to be at the station on Friday to wait for my father. He would take le P'tit Train du Nord from Montreal to come and spend the week-end with us at the cottage. The station was filled with horses and buggies to welcome the visitors and bring them to destination. It cost 25 sous per person for the ride. I paid nothing because I always sat on someone's knees. My sister (15 years older) tried that with her boy-friend once. The farmer said a big, NON, Mamselle! C'est 25 sous pour vous. I still remind her of this in front of her great-grand-children....
Here, I go again, Knatolee, with stories from my past....So glad you had a great time with your mother-in-law. Lovely she could visit you.
I think that Easter Sunday and Mother's Day were the only sunny days these past several weeks. So nice that Gordon's Mom was able to visit and it looks like you all had a wonderful time.

ReplyDeleteSounds like your MIL had a wonderful visit.
Claude, I do love your stories. Keep 'em coming! "Non Mamselle! C'est 25 sous pour vous!" Hahaha!
ReplyDeletePaula, we are supposed to get six straight days of rain this week. What is with this weather? I can't get my seeds planted!
ReplyDeleteCogDis, Nova is a beauty. Chloe Ann takes good care of her horsies. She is hoping to get Nova knocked up this year.
