So here's what my mornings are typically like (I work for myself, at home.) I stumble drooling to my computer, barely coherent. My shining knight of a husband brings me a steaming hot cuppa Marks & Spencer's Extra-strong tea. Then a few minutes later he gallantly arrives with my toast and nut butter (I like cashew but also have almond butter and peanut butter and even sunflower seed butter!)
The other day, he got creative, as he is wont to do...
Yes, a cut-out diamond in the centre!
When I asked "Why?", he responded with "Because it was there." or some such thing. I should just know better than to question the creativity of the culinary artiste.
And most mornings, as I slowly return to consciousness with my tea and toast, my office is infiltrated by cats. I usually slouch back in my chair with my feet up on my desk. Naomi has a habit of curling up on my lap with her back end elevated on my legs. Maybe she likes the blood rushing to her head?
And as you can see, Julius likes to join the party too. He is not a lap cat, but prefers the warmth of my ancient laser printer...
And here is the sound of a happy cat...
Enjoy the weekend. We're having a soggy one here.
At least he's bringing it to ya...that in itself is amazing. I wonder when mine retires if he'll start cooking and serving too. Coming this summer.....Stay tuned.
ReplyDeleteI have 2 cats in the office this morning, too. Hugs
So sweet that Gordon makes your toast and tea while you try to wake up at your keyboard! If he insists on cutting out part of your breakfast in diamond shapes, he could at least fill the space with...hmmmm...a little carat or two. LOL
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
p.s. deleted earlier comment due to typos! Haven't had my second coffee yet.
Husbands are great...mine makes my PBJ every morning for me. Too bad we're only allowed one...LOL!
ReplyDeleteYour mornings sound purrr-fect! I think that was meant to be a heart in your toast...a romantic! Lucky girl.
ReplyDeleteThere's nothing like a purring cat on your lap--sheer bliss!
ReplyDeleteOne of our cats likes to be spun around and around on the rug in the kitchen like he's in a centrifuge. Maybe he likes the "head rush" like Naomi. :)
I think you scored big time in both the husband and the animal department, Natalie. Have a lovely and hopefully not too soggy weekend.
ReplyDeleteI guess if your man serves you your breakfast you can't get too upset about a little missing toast bit. I do the p.b. on toast in bed with my moggies too but have to get it myself. George & I have a rule: no talking till after breakfast.
ReplyDeleteAhhh... you're a diamond! Very nice husband! I'm a green tea person, but sadly no toast shows up in the morning. Sweet kitties. Love the silk present. So pretty.
ReplyDeleteCutting out the middle of toast? But that's the best part!
ReplyDeleteDeb, I have no complaints! :) And he's four years younger than me and was very trainable when I got him. HAHAHA! But I bet you could train your hubby too. ;)
ReplyDeletePaula, I think it's self-preservation. He knows the wisdom of taming the savage beast in the morning! And hey, a carat would have been nice.
ReplyDeleteKatnip Lounge, you have an EXCELLENT hubby!!!
Nance, he is still very romantic after all these years. A heart, I like that.
TTPT, I LOVE that your cat enjoys centrifugal spin!
CogDis, I am pretty darn happy with my spoils... ;)
Fran, that is an EXCELLENT rule.
Callie, I like green tea later in the day but am admittedly a bit of a morning-caffeine addict!
Ahab, you are so right!
