Friday night selfies

But before the selfies, first we have the amazing PEEKABOO DORK DOG!

Dum de dum de dum....

PEEKABOO!!!

That thing hanging off his just is a benign pendulous wart thing. We never bothered having it removed because we honestly figured Tristan wasn't going to live long enough for it to become a problem. Back in August 2013 (!!!) he has his spleen and an enormous hemangiosarcoma removed from his abdomen. We all thought we'd be lucky if he lasted three months. And yet, here he is! He's having quite a bit of trouble with his arthritis and is on several medications, but he hasn't lost his zest for life yet. We take it one day at a time with this old guy. He is 12-1/2 years old now.

Still a cutie!

And he still makes an excellent pillow!

Have a great weekend!

PS: Remember how Honey used to be a barn cat?

Ha!

  1. Honey so reminds me of my Pasha, a black and white who walked into the house through the dog door one day and stayed for twenty years. She slept at my feet while my butterscotch, Scotty, slept at my shoulders. It took her about a week to realize Scotty was no longer with us, and she moved up to my shoulders. No cat since those two have slept with me. The current cat sleeps with the dog.

  5. He's already a ripe old age for a large dog. It is amazing he's still around after the hemangiosarcoma.

Aren't you glad the other two Greek cats didn't decide they also wanted to be housecats?

  6. Image 3 is somewhat hilarious as it seems like Tristan's arm is around your shoulder with a strangely human looking hand on it.

  14. 12 1/2 years doesn't seem old... but I know it is for a large dog. And I'm sure your loving home contributes to his long years. I think that those of us that love animals have a hard time dealing with the ones that are home-less. You apparently are blessed to have the land and opportunity to do more than those of us who don't have the space to accomodate large numbers. We do what we can, but it seems so little. Providing a wild-life habitat (which we have done) is so little... and even then, there are those who think we shouldn't provide water and food... and some shelter from the weather.

  17. Those first two pictures show the view we usually get from our Scout. It is always funny because her stubby tail will wag so fast that it's a blur.

Tristan has a beautiful, sweet face.
