Clouds that are pretty and a very proud kitty!

After a very hot day yesterday, we got a torrential, very localized rainstorm. My friend Ronna, about 25 minutes north of me, stayed high and dry, but the skies opened up here. I knew something was something was coming when I saw these cloud formations...

So dramatic over the wheat fields!

We set heat records today and yesterday. Things are supposed to cool down overnight, with perhaps a thunderstorm.

And this morning, Emily was running around the house making that "I just caught something tasty!" cat noise. Here she is, proudly displaying her kill:

Yes, the brush from a paint roller. What a vicious killer! :)

  1. Emily is obviously a natural huntress. When I left Toronto tonight, it was getting hammered with a wicked storm. I live about an hour away - it's just reaching here now.

  4. You must be lovin' that new camera. Great photos. Now Emily, she must be very proud as that is quite a large catch. Annie brought me a wine cork yesterday and howled and chirped until I praised her.

  5. We had monsoon rains for hours in Lincolnshire yesterday but it wasn't just over the house in our case, I think that the neighbours got it too ...

That there fluffy thing that your cat has caught is the new genetically modified house mouse - designed to stack easily for storage and then roll under beds once a week to gather all of the fluff.

    1. Hope your monsoon dries up soon! And glad that now I know what that prey is! :)
