Make it stop

I am sitting here listening to the wind on the metal roof, and ice pellets hitting the window (started as snow, soon to return to snow) and thinking that I have officially had enough of winter! I know a lot of people are very winter-weary now. Ottawa, an hour west of us, is at the moment having its fifth snowiest winter ever but I understand the the storm we are experiencing today is going to knock it up to second snowiest winter ever.

I woke up repeatedly last night because it sounded like the wind was going to rip off the metal roof.

I've really enjoyed snowshoeing and skiing and all that, but I've had enough now and am ready for spring. Unfortunately the Environment Canada forecast shows flurries or snow for every one of the next four days.

Send me daffodils!

But it IS pretty!

Taking a little break.

Snowshoeing is one of the good things in winter!

  1. I too have had it with winter. It feels like it's never going to end. The trip to work is going to be lots of fun this morning. I'm sure the office will be quiet today, as many people won't be able to make it in.

  2. C'mon, Pnat. Think of it as your own personal contribution against global warming!

We, on the other hand, have had a p-poor winter, with not enough snow to insure that there won't be drought this summer.

Of course, it rained buckets last night in an attempt to make up for that. Ugh. Arable floors in the house .... I guess we all have our burdens, huh?

    Amen, sister!
I am a winter lover...but this is enough even for me! Right now it's icing up AGAIN! The poor horses are going stir crazy since there isn't any safe turnout. The only creatures who seem to love the snow are Andy, Archie & Truman...Levi loathes getting cold and wet. Violet has not set a toenail outside the door since November! Enough already! :)

  5. I took some pictured for you at lunch. They won't be as nifty as your snow pictures but if you are willing to share your snow photos, I'll share some not snow photos!

  6. I'm also ready for the spring. Granted we're not getting the snow you're getting (granted this was our second snow day in a week - I've got more pictures) but we've been dealing with all the wind which is keeping it cold here.

  8. Ruthie would be thrilled to swap places with you!

We're wearing shorts now. But if it makes you feel any better, our allergies are miserable, and my garden's completely overgrown with weeds.

  9. I love your snow pictures. It's officially spring here in the Carolinas and my daffodils are up in force and the buds on the dogwood trees are so fat they're going to pop open any day now. While I admit I love winter, I'm not sure how much I'm going to love it when I have to drive back and forth to work in it.
