Cats and a cuppa

So the other day I took a photo of the hens and tea for a little Twitter thing Damien St John of BBC Leicester was promoting -- send in a photo of your cuppa. I decided to send in a photo of Alex and Emily with a cuppa too, and got some rather hilarious shots in the process.

I started paying attention to BBC Leicester because my cousin Geoff is founder and director of Dave's Leicester Comedy Festival, and I listened to Damien St John interviewing Geoff on his radio show. I got to see Geoff the summer before last when he visited Montréal, for the first time since 1977 when we were both kids. We hit it off and I really wish I could see him more often. His Dad is my godfather and my favourite uncle. But I digress. Here are the kitty pics...

Then I moved the tea before it could spill and destroy our mattress!

As you can see, these two get along fine, although Emily can be a real pest. She's the same with Naomi, jumping on her head and bugging her. All the cats have been very tolerant with this youngster! She is 4-1/2 months old now and acting like the crazed adolescent she is. :)

  1. The oldsters don't have much time for Audrey but it cracks me up to watch Ed play a bit with her and stomp around with his stiff leg. Her mom gets the worst of her energy, and me. Cute photos.

    1. Aw, it's so nice Ed engages with the youngster. Emily is always hissing at Julius, but last night they were both snoozing next to be on the bed, two inches apart from each other.

  2. The look of shock and horror on Emily's face is the same as mine when faced with tea.

    1. It didn't take long! Gordon caught EMily and Alex snuggling on the bathmat the other day. THat's Naomi's terrain. Alex is a floozy.

  6. Hi cutie pie kitties. It's our first visit here. We came from the katnip lounge. It's nice to have met you all. We love birds, all kind of birds, ducks and all, and we love cats, all kinds of cats, crazy and all :)

    Take care,

  8. Emily is going to be big girl - she's going to grow into those ears. We used to have a cat named Pepper who looked a lot like Emily at her age. He grew into his ears and was 20 pounds without any fat on his frame when he was an adult. He was just a large cat. I loved having a big cat, he was friendly and loved people and everyone commented about how big he was. And he was SMART! He would fetch like a dog. We always said he was part dog part cat. Pepper had the same coloring as Emily, too. I can't wait to see how big she gets!

    1. Lynn, she is already as long as Naomi (who is admittedly a small cat) but she's only four month old! I suspect Em will be a big girl. She's certainly a BOSSY girl!

Pepper sounded like a great kitty. :)
