I grew eggplants for the first time this year, and they have been quite successful. Tonight le chef Gordon is making eggplant lasagne. I need to pick the rest of the eggplants before the first frost hits, which I suspect is going to be within the next week or two at most.
I thought this particular one had very humanesque features:
Happy weekend! And I still can't believe I only got two lousy comments on the Colin Firth birthday post. Where is Colin when you need him?
I just gave you another comment on Colin's post, LOL! And don't feel bad, I posted something last night and still have NO comments this morning. That's very unusual for me and I don't know where everyone is. Oh well. Probably healthy (unlike me today) and busy (unlike me today) and feeling up to doing something besides surfing blogs (unlike me today). LOL!
ReplyDeleteBonus comment, because I totally forgot to comment on your wild and crazy looking eggplant! That is definitely an interesting...um...appendage it's got there!
ReplyDeleteMaking a nose out of the appendage was not my first thought!!!!
ReplyDeleteI was trying to keep it G-rated, people. Yeah, cuz so many kids are following my blog! Hahahahaha!
ReplyDelete"two lousy posts" ??? ahem.
ReplyDelete;) ... Ok I know what you meant.
the eggplant is very, um, unusual!
so how did the Caber masterpiece turnout?
And first frost. ... the time does fly, doesn't it.
Well I wanted to say it was a nice looking eggplant...but wanted to keep it "g" rated.....
ReplyDeleteP.S. Are you going to share the eggplant lasagne recipe? :-)
Hehe- so you get to enjoy your veggies twice! First by haveing fun with it, and second, by eating it. How was the lasagne?
ReplyDeleteYou know, my mind generally resides in a sewer, but for the life of me, never saw that as anything but a NOSE. But looking at it now, well, ahem...
ReplyDeleteNatalie,
ReplyDeleteLove the weird eggplant. I've got a squash to show you!! Can't put it on the blog because of my nieces & nephews but maybe I can dig it up and email it to you.
I can't believe you're getting ready for frost. I hate that for you, but I'm so ready for something besides humidity.
I was outside madly picking tomatoes and tomatillos and hot peppers this afternoon... even so, I am sure a lot will be nailed by frost, and soon! I am so not ready for that. Wah!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see your freaky squash, Robin.
Hmmm, tomatoes, hot peppers... it's chili sauce time. I think you mentioned some time ago that you were getting ready to make some chili sauce. I'll show you mine if you show me yours.
ReplyDeleteRecipe! Sheesh.
