Real men love cats...

Poor Gordon has a bad cold. Today, Naomi gave him a little tender loving care....

While Tristan was a dork, as per usual...

Hmm, he is looking a little too "ribby" in this photo. The vet told me to get some weight off him, because of his terrible arthritis, but I think maybe I need to put back on a pound or two! ALthough this posture does particularly accentuate his ribs.

Meanwhile, Emily is climbing to new heights!

Her new trick is to leap from that printer on my desk up onto the top of my cupboard, which must be eight feet tall! She has suddenly been devoting her time to being naughty. She's climbing up in all sorts of places she never did before. And yesterday we discovered she knows how to open the dog treat box. She dragged out a bag of cookies and left lots of teeth marks in the bag before we found it!

She looks very pleased with herself!

And I know I keep banging on about how my ugly wallpaper is going to go, but really, it is! But I think this is going to be the last room in the house to get redone. We just had French doors and a wall put in our "piano room" (where my piano is) so that it is no longer open concept (so I can use it as an extra guest room, and keep the pets out when desired.) The kitchen is midway through its redecoration. The painter is coming back Thursday to get at that. Still quite a bit of painting to do, and I have a few more colours to pick. I'll be very glad when this is all done, as it has now been going on a year. Yeesh.

Emily doesn't care!
(Sorry for the blurry photo.)

Hope you are all well and happy out there. We got another snowstorm today and I swear it dumped a foot of snow. Oh well, spring will come soon....

  3. Why wouldn't real men like an animal that is intelligent and independent? Heck, Emily has super powers! Hope Gordon is feeling well soon and we get some relief from this endless winter.

  7. Tell Gordon that a cat as adventurous as that is nothing to sneeze at. My identity is probably showing up as pupkissbud or something like that. It's still me, theobsessivechef.

  8. When Emily gets down from the top of the cupboard, does she jump onto the printer or straight to the floor? If it's the printer, how's it standing up to the treatment?

    1. She jumps up from the printer, then lands on the printer. So far the printer hasn't died, and fortunately she seems to have lost interest in this activity!!!

  9. I too am wondering how she gets down. In my experience cats are better at getting up than getting down, Plaintive cries for assistance? Or a jump to the printer?

    1. Jump to the printer. She is the original death-defying cat. NO FEAR!

  10. Triston is not shy is he? Still proud of his ageing manliness?
