What have we here?
"Julius! I smell shrimp!"
"Let me just get a little closer..."
"EMILY! Back off!!"
"Hmpf. Fine then. But I'm not going far!"
Every Christmas eve, Gordon and I have a cheese fondue...
...and listen to Alan Maitland read Frederick Forsyth's "The Shepherd". They play it on CBC radio every Christmas eve. Eventually I bought a CD of it, but I couldn't be bothered hunting it down the other night, so I found it on the CBC radio website and put my computer on the table!
So 21sts century!
The fondue was very tasty, as always.
Sophie waited patiently for me to drop something.
And a good time was had by all. Despite our redness in this photo, the only booze we'd had was the wine and kirsch in the fondue. :)
Yum, looks like a lovely spread.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to you and your dear ones!
What a great idea. It's AGES since I had fondue..
ReplyDeleteWe do this every Xmas eve, then on NYE we usually have chocolate fondue!
DeleteHave a delicious 2013!
ReplyDeleteThat's such a nice tradition and so romantic! Love the cat centrepiece.
ReplyDeleteYes, strictly speaking we don't allow cats on the table.
DeleteHAHAHAHHA!
I don't know who's cuter--the kitties, Sophie or you two lovebirds!
ReplyDelete:)))
DeleteFondue sounds great. I love traditions at Christmas. "Hi kitties and pup"
ReplyDeleteRed or not, that's a cute photo of you two.
I have zero energy today so I'm looking forward to a quiet evening. Enjoy yours. Hugs,Deb
That is a lovely way to spend the evening. ;)
ReplyDeleteNot to mention filling!!
DeleteLooks like everybody had a great evening. some people are breaking the old tradition of turkey. A turkey is too much for two people. We get small turkeys cut in half.
ReplyDeleteMy mother-in-law still makes us turkey for Christmas day but really, it's too much! Cornish hens, perhaps?
DeleteHow much wine and kirsch in that fondue? Great Christmas Eve Scene.
ReplyDeleteBonne Année 2013!
I should stop coming here when I'm hungry!
ReplyDeleteOoops!
DeleteMy internet connection is being particularly persnickety this morning. Just wanted to tell you I know how much fun fondue can be. I must make some - it's been years.
ReplyDeleteMy Mum started the "Christmas Eve Fondue" tradition back in the 70s and I have continued it for all these decades!
DeleteSounds like a purrfect way to spend a Christmas eve , if the cat´s where allowed on the table too :)
ReplyDeleteWell, they're not SUPPOSED to be there... :)
