I have some cats for you...
Sweet Annuk, lounging about on the front-porch shelf!
And last week, the Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry OSPCA held a fundraiser called "Cats on Your Mats". Yes, we did yoga with kitties! And despite the fact that onsite adoptions were available, we resisted the lure of this fluffy black sweetie. (Yes, we both agree that 16 cats are enough!) Such a fun evening.
And speaking of the OSPCA, here is our Louise...
...we adopted her from the shelter in 2013. Time flies!
And here's the reason I can't have pretty things on my kitchen windowsills... sisters Daisy and Honey.
Here's our new little darling...
...Bert is an Alpine goat that was dumped on the steps of the SPA de l'Estrie in Sherbrooke, Quebec. He arrived last Sunday with Patrick the pig.
"What the hell is that?" says Redford, "A tiny deer?"
Nope.
It's Bert!
Keaton the goat-lover came right over...
...but Redford kept is distance.
Emerson casually assessed the whole situation.
Bert is fearless! And was very happy to saunter over to meet the ponies...
Esme just kept on eating hay, but Jimmy, Saul and Finney were fascinated by Bert. I think they were trying to figure out just what he was!
Buttercup acting as barnyard supervisor.
And Gordon enjoying cats and his new goat kid.
Bert had a rough start to life. He was only a week old when he was dumped. The vet at the shelter took him home and nursed him back to help. He was able to drink milk off one of her goats, so we have been holding down our girls (Penny, Genny, and Bambi) for Bert to drink from a few times a day. None of them are thrilled, but they'll survive! Bert is happy to drink from any available Mama.
Genny is the worst. Right before I took this, she reached around and bit Bert hard on the ear!
I have more pics coming, including of some of Patrick the pig, but for now I leave you with a quote I found this week and liked...
Have a great weekend!
