Em-i-lem-i-lem-i-lee!

Today we had to go to Ottawa, so Emily had her first day of unfettered freedom in the house. The dogs are always shut in my office when we go out, so there are never any concerns about questionable cat/dog interactions. The dogs are very good with all our cats, but Julius raked Sophie's muzzle once (drawing blood and ire!) and kittens seem to have a thing for pestering dogs, so I just shut the dogs away with their big comfy beds while we're out. That way everyone is safe and happy.

I have kitten-proofed the house as best I can. I wondered what damage we might come home to, but the house was in perfect order. Emily looked like she was just waking up from a nap.

After a couple of hours of playing with Naomi, she's sacked out on the couch next to me as we watch the boob tube. I took these photos with the camera on my computer, so the quality isn't great but Emily remains cute.

The only thing I can't figure out is why her head smells like a scented candle.  I thought I had put away all my candles (not that I have that many!) but maybe I forgot a soy jar candle somewhere and she stuck her head in it (unlit of course!) Or maybe it's something else... soap? Right now, it's a mystery as to why her head smells so yummy. I'm sure all will be revealed before too long.

Tomorrow we are going to meet our new godson for the first time! Benjamin was born on January 10th. Can't wait to meet him.

Have a great weekend!

PS: The title of the post is one of my pet names for Emily. I also call her "Embolism", but Gordon doesn't like that one. He's okay with "Emmy-licious", though.

  1. She smells good because she is a little girl - and they're made of 'Sugar and Spice and all things nice', of course!

  2. Aw, she looks just like my BooBoo, a wonderful (though high-maintenance) girl I got in college and had for 19 years. She was a real character!

I'm sure you'll figure out how Emily got her groovy scent on ;-)

    1. I keep thinking of her being out in the -22C temps with the -34C windchill and shaking my head. She's a tough little girl. She now sleeps between us every night. :)

She smells good because she is a cute little girl.
She didn't seem to have done too badly with the run of the house.
