Here are some of my seed packets, exploding all over my desk:
I ordered 25 types of tomatoes (because I am enthusiastic... and insane) including a LOT of heritage types. I especially like striped and/or two-colour tomatoes... like "Striped German"!
And of course there's the colourless "albino beet":
The cats have their own favourite:
Really I should say SECOND favourite, since their most treasured garden item is my large catnip plant!
And a couple of my favourite catalogues:
Richters has fantastic herb plants and seeds: http://www.richters.com/
Florabunda Seeds has cottage garden, heirloom, and unusual varieties of seed: http://www.florabundaseeds.com/
Terra Edibles has lots of cool varieties: http://www.terraedibles.ca/
And finally we have The Cottage Gardener Heirloom Seed and Plant Nursery:

They get bonus points for their great customer service!
Check 'em out if you love to garden! They all ship within Canada, and some ship internationally.
Here's my favourite vegetable from last year: Egghead Now excuse me, I have some seeds to plant. Go watch a sock monkey music video!
Happy to know you cuz you'll have too many veggies and might have to give some away, eh?
ReplyDeleteI wish I'd known you last summer!! I will absolutely keep you well-supplied with organic produce! :)
ReplyDeleteHow utterly EXCITING!!! what potential in those little packages.
ReplyDeleteI think you will need a roadside stand in late summer :))
TY!!! I can't wait to see your garden grow. Are you past your frost/snow period?
ReplyDeleteI remember your excellent garden from last year. Believe it or not, you inspired me to rearrange and change some of my own things around this year. I took out my steps and went with more straight rows (if possible).
I picked my first bunch of green beans yesterday. They will be off to the freezer ASAP. I'm going to freeze & not can. I should be able to eat all my stuff in 9 mo time. I don't have the canning supplies. I do have FoodSaver machine & bags for vacuum-packing.
I can't wait to see it grow.
Ahoy fellow seedaholic!! My dining room table is similar, but I mostly deal with flower seeds, with some tomatoes. Isn't spring great!
ReplyDeleteThanks for becoming a follower. I've been reading your blog and realize it could keep me from so many other obligations... you have a lot to say on so many topics. What a treat. I'll be back soon.
ReplyDeleteI'm jealous! I have all this time on my hands, yet nowhere to have a garden. Have fun planting and tending and putting up!
