Is this a deer I see before me?

The other evening, there were deer in the cornfield next to us (not an unusual event):

There were also bazillions of Canada geese, which you can see in the foreground of these photos.

And then upon this pastoral scene appeared a dufous dog:

The deer were already fleeing before Tristan noticed them. A mighty hunter he is not.

More geese in front of the early-evening moon:

And the usual gratuitous dog shots...

Happy spring, everyone!

OOoooooo Cool Moon picture!! I've been meaning to tell you .. or you probably already know that Mercury is visible just after sunset in the north-northwestern sky. It's supposed to be the brightest object in the sky at the moment. If you have a clear view of the horizon, you should be able to see it. I'm not sure I can with a 5500 meter volcano in the way .. well and we've been having storms at around sunset lately.

Well ANYWAY love the deer .. awwwwww. It amazes me how they manage to survive the winter ... I suppose some of them don't.

The dogs are as adorable as ever :)

  3. I'm actually a bit confuzzled by all your geese. While I would expect to see lots of Canadas, I would have guessed that you were on the flyroute for Snow geese as well. Perhaps that will be an autumn thing?

  4. It's too bad that the dogs hate your farm so much. ;-)

  6. Actually, I am behind on my skywatching but will check out Mercury! We just bought ourselves the Meade My Sky, which helps lazy fools such as ourselves learn the constellations and so on. You just point it to an object in the sky, and it tells you what it is!

And HWB, we did see snow geese here last fall! I wonder if I am just not being observant enough and they are here now? Or is it too early?

As for the plaster, it's getting there. Vince fits us in between his other jobs, so it's taking awhile. He has about one visit left, I believe. I will take some more photos.
