We have some great (if hairy) dog beds from Gertie Gear. The problem is, the cats keep stealing them from Tristan...
So I bought a couple of cat-sized beds, and this is what happened...
Which I pretty much saw coming! But most of the time, the beds are being used by the correct species:
Emily says "Four paws up!"
Alex concurs!
And on another note, we went kayaking last Friday evening on the St. Lawrence River.
I like to pimp out my float, so to speak.
And I actually was in the Naval Reserve, so the sticker is legit!
Like Gordon's shirt? I got it here. I shudder to think what would happen if we put a cat in the kayak!
We keep our kayaks at Hybrid Marine in Summerstown. Fantastic marina, and a great place to rent a kayak or trimaran, or send your kids to summer camp!
It was a spectacular evening. Water like glass, hardly any other boats in sight.
We watched the sunset.
It was the night before the "super moon."
Can't wait to go back!
The river looks fabulous, especially in that light.
ReplyDeleteSo pleased that someone else has the same dog hair problem as us!
ReplyDeleteI am sooooo jealous of you. You two look great. Miss you a lot.
ReplyDeleteLove the way Gordon is looking at you!

Great photos, Natalie. All of them. Deb
ReplyDeleteYou live a magical life!
ReplyDeleteReally great photos! Love the dog and cat pics... so funny. The pictures on the water are beautiful too... so peaceful and quiet.
ReplyDeleteWhat a life!!! (Yours and the cats'...) But, alas, poor Tristan.
ReplyDeleteWhat a marvelous kayak outing you seem to have had!
ReplyDeleteThe new beds seem appreciated!
Gorgeous kayaking pics. And of course the cats would steal the dog beds. It's in their DNA.

ReplyDeleteSome awesome photos.
ReplyDeleteAnd re "I shudder to think what would happen if we put a cat in the kayak!", only abut a year ago, when she was 25, did my daughter tell me that one day when very young she and her brother sat our pet cat on a plastic sledge and launched her down the river at the bottom of our garden.... Apparently the poor startled cat jumped out after travelling a few metres downstream, instantly learned to swim, reached the bank, ran away and did not approach the children in the garden again for quite some time. So that's kind of what might happen.
We saw the super moom too when we were camping for my Crones' Capers. Then two nights later it was like an orange easter egg. I love the reeds waving picture.
ReplyDeleteCute cat/dog beds. Love that first shot. We have trouble with one or more of our cats feeling compelled to claim such soft beds by peeing on it, so have come to avoid them.
ReplyDeleteI love the name Summerstown. Seems like the perfect place to go for a summer paddle! The water is so still. What a beautiful evening.
The first two pics are exactly how it should be - can't let the dog think to much of himself...
