My Farm Boy cat traps are still working great!

I like the Farm Boy grocery chain for several reasons, not least of which is these great cat traps, I mean, shopping bags they sell:

Look at what I caught! Naomi and Emerson, who is channelling his inner tiger.

Ooo, looks like we lured in a third...

Emily's not impressed with me, judging by the tongue. Naomi is not looking too thrilled either! She wants that pesky kitten (Emerson) to buzz off.

Time to get out more traps, I think. I mean, bags. I wonder if I could catch all six cats at once?

Speaking of cats, Emerson's twin has been running around the farm and garden. :( He must have been dumped along with his brother, but he is much more elusive. I have seen him streak past just twice. Gordon has had a few more sightings; the first time he saw him, he thought Emerson had escaped!

We'll try to get him comfortable with us then see where it goes. He could always be a pampered barn cat, or even better, maybe we can find him a home. I think six cats indoors is our limit (yes, really!) But at this point I can't even get near him. although he appears to consider our place home. :)

  1. Yes, I think you need more traps (I mean bags)! As for limiting your number of cats, we always tried to keep the inside cats to 3... then when a litter of 5 was left on our porch, we jumped to 8. Now we're down to 5 (and 2 are over 20)... so yes, the *there is no room in the inn* as even these last 3 will probably outlive us. But our inside cats don't go out and the outside ferals numbers vary. Right now with 3 litter of kittens. there are probably about 12 that come by to eat and play daily.

    1. You are certainly doing your part, Rian! Sigh... there always seems to be an endless supply of cats needing homes. I so wish people would be more responsible!! :(

  2. I think 6 cats would be my indoor limit, too. A barn cat is nice when one has animal feed around. Being a pampered animal on your property goes without saying at this point ;)

    1. We're working on getting a few barn cats (long story but they're coming) because we have recurring rodent problems in the barn that are out of control this year!

We seem to have achieved a delicate balance with six cats indoors!

    1. They do love these bags! And boxes of course are always a favourite!

  4. The twin probably is already acting as a barn cat for you (unless of course it is Emerson who has found a secret escape route.... Have the two ever been seen at the same time?). The trouble with leaving food out for him in the barn, I suppose, is that would sustain the rats he is supposed to be dealing with or chasing away. Hmm...

    1. We have such a rat infestation right now that we've called a pest control company. I don't know what's going on this year! ANyway, we are working on acquiring some barn cats and of course Emerson's twin is welcome to move in. I would feed him if I were sure he was the one eating the kibble but I'm keeping an eye out for him!

  7. With 6 indoor cats, you might want to consider not trapping any more. Isn't there a hunting limit in your area? LOL A grumpy check out lady once made a big deal out of shaking cat hair out of my grocery bags at the check out. Apparently she was offended about pet fur getting on my groceries.

    1. Hahahahah! I'm sure I've ingested an entire cat's worth of hair over the years.

  8. I love those cat traps. They would work well for our too, also. Our first two cats would never go near anything like that. I have a vague memory of 4 indoor cats being the limit... or was it 5? My nephew and his wife said they reached their limit at 7. They now have 14.

    1. I think I need to quit setting limits because we all know they are totally elastic! :) 14, wow...

  9. Why is it that I have a feeling the crew thinks Louise was a 'piece of cake' to deal with now that Emerson has arrived. :)

  10. Is it my imagination, or is Emerson's tail just a wee bit fluffy? He is so cute. Maybe his brother senses that his bro is inside with you?

    1. I think it IS a little fluffy! I wish I could catch his brother, or at least see more of him. We are watching out for him!

Hee, love your cat traps : ) We have several cardboard boxes that are well-used. The favorite one is much sought after. Good luck with wild brother.
