So last week we spent a night in Corning, New York. It's a very pretty town and I loved the old-fashioned main street. We had a great Indian meal at Thali of India on Market Street.
Pop bottles!
I must have an octopus chandelier some day.
Mosaic glass tabletop, Rome, 1866.
English glass beadwork basket from the Stuart Period.
And some more modern things:
There are also great demos at the museum, including this hot glass show:
Wow those are impressive! I love the glass creatures
ReplyDeleteIt looks as though you must've traveled Route 81 on your trip, and seen a bit of Central New York state...a lovely part of the world! My mother grew up in Cortland, and I remember going to the Corning factory as a kid.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a fun place to visit.
ReplyDeleteI want a trip...
You never know what lurks in good ol' U.S.of A.
ReplyDeleteThat was amazing!
Sharon, we did indeed go down Route 81, including "downtown" Cortland!
ReplyDeleteJames, your little guy would love the glass factory (probably even more when he's a couple of years older.) There are some cool things for kids to do there!
Jams, I loved the glass creatures. Ah, the good old days before plastic!
