Icy!

We had quite the storm the other day. While we managed to escape the 50 cm/20 in pile-up Ottawa received, we still got some snow as well as freezing rain and ice pellets.

Fortunately we didn't lose power! Everything was coated in a layer of ice...

...which makes for a beautiful sparkly landscape in the late-winter sunshine!

The pony crew was unperturbed!

Finney and Esme are already shedding their winter coats!

Today's forecast calls for rain, ugh! That will make for an unholy mess!

If you are on Facebook, I have made a page for our farm and rescue animals and you will find it here!

Have a great weekend!

  2. Your photos are wonderful Natalie! We mainly got snow the other day, no freezing rain. It is already above freezing here this morning and the snow has melted quite a bit.

  5. Hi Natalie, the snowy landscape in the sunshine and the icicles on the gates and tree branches are beautiful. But I don't think I'd survive. Wrap up warmly. I'm off to check your FB page. Jo

  8. Many fine photos showing the rain on the twigs and branches. I don't like rain in the winter. Give me snow, lots of snow!

  10. It all looks very pretty, but I'm pleased it's in Canada, and not here in France.

  11. *Sigh* So pretty! Here in Texas we haven't had any rain for almost two months and the temps have been in the high 70s to low 80s. The trees are starting to leaf out already! What do you want to bet that we get a hail storm in April? And we may have Trump for a president. We can't get a break, I tells ya.
