Aliens!

Well, no, not really.

They're alpacas at my neighbour's alpaca farm!

And there are two guardian llamas, too...

They were all recently shorn!

I own several items made from their beautiful fleece, including some awesome lap duvets.

Love that smile! You can visit their website here.

No, I am not getting pet alpacas...

  1. Thank goodness! I have a friend who, until her husband's health failed, had your same accumulation of critters on her farm. Well, maybe not a donkey, but she had llamas to protect her sheep, and she fostered the occasional alpaca. I helped her in her shop (The Crooked River Herb Farm Shop, still selling her fruit and pepper jellies on line). I worked for wool. I never got over how much work all those animals are.

  3. OOps! I made a wrong prediction for the end of this story. I didn't realize alpacas were so small.

  12. I would not be at all surprised if you had taken in a few aliens.

  13. I don't know how you can resist them. It's the eyes.. There's an agricultural show we go to each year and they have loads. If we had a field I know what would go in it..

  14. They are so cute :-) I remember the first time I saw some and wondered what they were. At that time the had a companion, Kevin. Kevin was a camel with great character, he came to pose for anyone who had a camera in their hand ;-)
