I have SUCKER stamped on my forehead!!!

Even our little boy piglet is laughing at me!

Why am I a sucker?

Meet Emerson!

In case you've lost count, this is cat #6. He just showed up here in the barn on Saturday night. He's about six months old and was clearly dumped.

Healthy, affectionate and very much intact! Tomorrow morning I am taking him to the vet for neutering and vaccines. He has the biggest, er, cat-nuts I have ever seen.

Why is he doing a Hallowe'en cat impersonation here?

Ta da!!

Tristan really enjoyed the sun and breeze on Sunday!

Emerson really isn't all that afraid of him, and Tristan is so slow now, he can't be bothered with chasing a cat!

So we are are now a six-cat family. Sigh... what are you gonna do? SIX. CATS!!! Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine this.

And today, my friend Steve came to visit the PIGLETS!

Here's Dahlia and Olivia! Three of them have names now. One pig has already found a great home, but  won't be leaving until weaning time around eight weeks.

Here's Zydeco the Partridge Chantecler rooster, photobombing my pig trio shot!

Hmm, not sure if this is Dahlia or her brother!

Olivia going into a belly-rub induced trance.

Pesky brother pseudo-humping sister! For those who worried about the black piglet getting bugged in my video of the other day, worry not. He can give as good as he gets!

They love playing and wrestling!

Here's GERTRUDE SWINE! Aka Gertie. Aka "Little Miss Pink Nose." True to her piggy self, she loves rooting in the dirt!

How can you not love that face?

Charlotte, our five-year-old hen (matriarch of our entire bird flock!) hanging out with Dahlia.

Double trouble!

Tomorrow I have to work on my bee hives so I'm really hoping it doesn't rain all day!

  2. Pigs wrestle? That must be hilarious to watch. Well, Natalie, I have had 7 cats at one time and although I never was able to keep up with the hair (my vacuum became one of my living-room furniture pieces) I really enjoyed each and everyone of them. Having two free-loaders right now along with our four, it is back to the 'crazy cat house' again. Emerson is a particularly handsome boy. I'm still flabbergasted at someone dumping that sweet cat.

  12. Gertrude Swine--perfect name for a nosy pig!

Emerson is a sweetie. I have a theory that after four cats one more in the clowder doesn't make much difference. Yep, I agree with Jane and Chris. Kudos to you for having him neutered and giving him a home ;-)

  15. Pigs are so much fun. Our sons used to ride our pigs to play rodeo bronc riders and the pigs seemed to enjoy the attention. They would stand still to be sat on before being foot-nudged forward. They were real farm pigs raised for meat for the winter but were so much entertainment. We didn't have TV reception so we learned to get our entertainment any way we could.

We have always said that there must be an invisible sign in front of our house that says "Suckers for animals live here" on it. Welcome to the club! What a sweetie boy...

Love the piggie pics. I'm up to 9 cats. My Dad used to say I was too soft-hearted for my own good. Yeah, no kidding. When in Winners the other day I saw a plaque that read "I'm one cat short of crazy". LOL That about sums it up.
