I know I promised cats, but...

...but I've been crazy-busy the last couple of days and haven't had a chance to photograph my darling kitties. Forgive me, and here are some bug macros to tide you over. Plus I am again behind on blog reading, and replying to all the wonderful comments you leave! I will catch up soon.

Bumblebee on thistle

Grasshopper on Joe Pye weed

The Milkweed Tussock caterpillar, which becomes the Milkweed Tiger moth, Euchaetes egle.

A face only a mother could love. He's sure enjoying that milkweed! Munch munch munch...

And one of my favourites...

Argiope aurantia, aka the writing spider. This one was huge and gorgeous!

And...

...a little lady bug...

...on a berry.

And we finish with...

...fly on sumac.
Cats soon, I PROMISE!

  8. Great photos of the bugs! Hope to see more. The caterpillar is so fun, and the grasshopper looks quite dashing in his layered suit. Maybe inspiration for a book for you to do?
