...but I've been crazy-busy the last couple of days and haven't had a chance to photograph my darling kitties. Forgive me, and here are some bug macros to tide you over. Plus I am again behind on blog reading, and replying to all the wonderful comments you leave! I will catch up soon.
Bumblebee on thistle
Grasshopper on Joe Pye weed
The Milkweed Tussock caterpillar, which becomes the Milkweed Tiger moth, Euchaetes egle.
A face only a mother could love. He's sure enjoying that milkweed! Munch munch munch...
And one of my favourites...
Argiope aurantia, aka the writing spider. This one was huge and gorgeous!
And...
...a little lady bug...
...on a berry.
And we finish with...
...fly on sumac.
Cats soon, I PROMISE!
That's ok...ladybugs would be my second request and you nailed it.
ReplyDeleteExcellent! My work here is done!
Deletethat caterpillar is some beast. Really like the macro shots of these critters.
ReplyDeleteHe was so furry! A little poodle caterpillar.
DeleteThat cat-er-pillar does kind of look like a cat!!!
ReplyDeleteHmm, you have a point there!
DeleteI hope no one ever takes a macro shot of me! Great photographs.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I don't need any close-ups of my pores!!!
DeleteYou could have told me that was a painted, wooden ladybug and I would have believed you! Amazing shot. ~ Maureen
ReplyDeleteThanks Maureen! I just stumbled across her.
DeleteTell the truth. The cats have locked you out of the house, haven't they. ;)
ReplyDeleteWell, now that you mention it... :)
DeleteThe fluffy caterpillar gets 10/10 for cuteness.

Isn't it cool?
DeleteGreat photos of the bugs! Hope to see more. The caterpillar is so fun, and the grasshopper looks quite dashing in his layered suit. Maybe inspiration for a book for you to do?
ReplyDeleteI like your thinking!!!
DeleteAre you the bug whisperer? I'm falling on the floor amazed at your photos.
ReplyDeleteNah, I'm the crazy lady crawling around on the ground with a camera, getting scratches and dirt all over her bare legs! :) It helps that i"m not afraid to get reeeeeally close to them. WHat am I going to photograph this winter?! Houseflies?!
DeleteSo glad you're enjoying them!
