Here are a few photos to tide you over until... well, the next post, I guess!

I love this picture I took of Tristan on Friday evening:

It has been pretty hot the last few days (35C today). Tristan was happy to have rest in the grass as the sun set over the fields. He's a happy old senior canine.

Hannibal the duck was born last summer. Last October, he ended up in my bathtub after having his feathers picked by his siblings. THere's an amusing video of that event here. Hannibal finds me quite alluring. Or at least, he finds my arm quite alluring.

This is one of the ducklings that hatched this past May. She/he doesn't have a name yet. A very pretty little duck! To distinguish the five born in May from the five born in July, we call these guys the "duckettes." The ducklings are the youngest, and I will have more photos of their cuteness for you very soon.

The dogs were outside for a little while today and were smart enough to find some shade. Fortunately our house has central air-conditioning, so everyone can cool off when they come inside to escape the 40C humidex.

Hope you all are having a happy weekend!

  1. So many cuties at your place. Isn't this heat brutal? I'm just back now from walking Kane because he can't go out at all in the day or early evening with his long coat. Just bathed him before we left so there was a bit of a skip in his walk but it quickly died down to a slow stroll again. Stay cool. Rain is comin'.

    1. I'm tired of sweating and needing two showers a day!!! Hope Kane is a bit happier now that things have cooled off a little.

  2. I visited with a black and a yellow lab this afternoon. Such mellow dogs. Your picnic table looks so interesting.

    1. A local guy makes them! We have a bench he made too. Lots of old metal farm machinery wheels and such around here. But it weighs a TON. :)
