More snow dogs!

We took the dogs snow-shoeing the other day.

I think Tristan heard a meadow vole under the snow. They are hardy little creatures who tunnel around under the snow in winter. I often see their footprints leading to drop-holes in the snow.

Sophie hears something too!

My pretty girl. Hard to believe she's nine now. She hasn't slowed down a bit.

Unlike Tristan, who likes to take breaks when we go out for a walk! He is nine too.

And he always loves a good roll on the ground, in any weather.

"Make sure you get my best side!"

Wild turkey tracks next to old dog tracks. Or is that old old dog tracks?

I love the light in winter. The snow is covered with a thin crust of ice from recent freezing rain.

Drop and roll!

A boy and his dog!

It's great having these three to snowshoe with.

Tristan is getting white around the muzzle.

And I think these are crow tracks.

Love my almost-daily outings!

  2. What a great walk in the snow. It is fun to see tracks that show up in the snow. What a fun thing to do for everyone. Take care.

  3. I'm snow shoeing through you this year! I thought the picture of Tristan rolling in the snow was him stopping for a nap at first!

    1. Jane, he's funny. Sometimes he will just plop down in the snow for a rest when we are out in walk. Not Sophie!!

  4. So disappointed that the dogs don't have snowshoes too... Lovely 'One man and his dogs' photos.

    1. They would like snowshoes. When they are feeling lazy, they just follow in our tracks instead of breaking through new snow!

  5. I bet the cats laugh at the dogs for their love of the great outdoors!
