Tobago

Yes, that's where we were for the past week or so! Jane over at Maple Syrup Mob guessed right yesterday when she said the birds in my photo were Bananaquits and that we were in the Caribbean! Gordon had never been to the Caribbean before but it's one of my favourite spots. I'd been to Barbados and Grenada without im. This time we decided to go to Tobago, where we rented a lovely villa overlooking Bloody Bay...

Life is so tough!

These beautiful orchids were right outside the front door.

Not sure what this is... some kind of Bird of Paradise flower? Gorgeous!

And there always seemed to be a rainbow over the ocean...

...and a beer in Gordon's hand!

There is so much wonderful seafood in Tobago. We had barracuda, mahi mahi, squid, shrimp, crevalle (Jackfish) and red snapper.

Lots of goats on Tobago.

Lots of chickens, too!

And some VERY manly beer.

You know how in the old days, your neighbours would drag you over and force you to watch a slideshow of their vacation? That's what you'll be suffering through here over the next few days!

    1. More photos coming! I saw MANY chickens, but only a few ducks in an enclosed yard. I did see signs advertising duck meat, though. :0

    1. Tobago was great, and I loved Grenada when I went in '97. Gordon and I would like to go there next.

  9. Lucky you. I'll be thinking of you as I scrape frost off the car windscreen!

I've visited the Cayman Islands; nice for a month or so, any longer and you start to scream.

And I wouldn't be cut out for island life, but for a little while, it's divine!
