Muscovy moods

Remember Ducky Duddle, born back in May?

He's still the sweetest duck of all, but a heck of a lot bigger!
Muscovy ducks can raise and lower their head feathers, depending on mood. I think when they're excited or ticked off, the feathers go up..

When things calm down, the feathers relax:

Ducky Duddle is very friendly and doesn't mind me petting him. No doubt he'll soon be getting it on with arm, but for now the relationship is purely platonic. (Let's be clear; it's ALWAYS platonic on my side! But to the mature drakes, I am just another piece of sexy meat...)

Good thing they're so cute!

  2. Duddle is handsome. Years ago (flashback) I had muscovys. I called them the ducks of hazzard. Duck of Earl was master and one gal would NEVER lay on her eggs. She left them for others to hatch. I called her Cindy Loper as she jist wanted to have FUN with Earl. Thanks for bringing back fond memories.

  11. Looks like he has a mohawk. Maybe he wants to be in a rock band?
He is so different from his cuddly yellow chick person.
