Super moon tonight, and a side of honeybee

Last night's moon was a little eerie, but tonight we get a SUPER MOON. Read this article on it. If the sky is clear, the best time to view it will be around 11 pm, at least in my area.

And speaking of super things, here's a little honeybee from my hive...

The poor thing expired and was tossed out of the hive. Honeybees always drag out their dead and drop them over the edge of the landing board outside the hive. They like to keep their homes clean and hygienic.

I'm working on a coloured-pencil drawing of a honeybee and brought this one in for reference material. If you click on this pic to enlarge it, you can see that honeybees are very hairy, and even have some hair on their large compound eyes!

Have a great weekend and try to get in a moon-viewing tonight.

Your bee (RIP little bee) is beautiful, it's not often you can get a good look at a bee.

  3. RIP sweet bee. Working your butt to the end. You will be immortalised, in a work of art, by your keeper. What a great life you had!

  8. I love BOTH of those pictures, Natalie! That bee is beautiful and the moon looks positively Poe-esque. No, that's not a word. I don't care. :)
