I took these photos of a rather dramatic sky about a week ago, then forgot to post them!
Beyond the hedge on the left is our front field, which is planted in spring wheat and will be beautiful this summer!
I'm working on more adorable duckling pics. Here's a super-cute one my friend Ronna took yesterday:
Climbing up on Mama's back. ADORABLE!!!
The other four ducklings are quite dark; a lot of brown, not so much yellow.
Stay tuned for further ducklings...
Awesome and adorable photos. Baby beeps are my favorite.
ReplyDeleteI just like sitting down there and watching them. THey are SO cute.
DeleteCute duck/duckling photo. The cloud photos are AWEsome! Last one is my fave - love the way the sunlight defines the shape and radiates out.
ReplyDeleteThanks Janet! It was quite a dramatic sky. THey got a bit of a thunderstorm north of us, but we stayed dry!
DeleteNow do you have water there for them to swim in?
ReplyDeleteRed, for now they have a kiddy pool and also various black rubber "bowls" from the feed store (one of then is big enough for two ducks!) We have a pond on our property but it's a good half a km from the barn. We have dreams of putting a pond behind the barn eventually. For now they seem happy with their pools. Muscovy ducks don't have to have water for swimming, but they do love it. And my friend just offered us a used bathtub, which we are going to try out! :)
DeleteOk, Natalie, if you pop the ducklings into an old bathtub full of water and you do not post pictures of that event here then I swear I will unfollow this blog! ;)
DeleteWell, we start them off in a little paint tray:

:)))
I love dramatic sky shots and those are fabulous! Congrats on the adorable new additions. Too cute!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Cog DIs. They are a pile of cutie patooties!
DeleteThe duck and duckling photo is priceless!
ReplyDeleteI love it when they climb on their mama like that!
DeleteLovely dramatic sky shots. Sometimes, I just walk around with my camera pointed at the sky because I usually end up with a few good pictures that way. We have had some really amazing cloudy skies lately. Ronna the duck looks so content with her baby climbing on. Sweet!
ReplyDeleteThe skies have been great, haven't they?
DeleteRonna-duck is a good mama!
Your use of the Churchill quotation "Stay tuned for further ducklings" brought a tear to my eye!
ReplyDeleteWell you know, my mother (who grew up in England during WWII) was a HUGE Churchill fan!
Deletewell then I guess this duckling should be called "Blondie" :)
ReplyDeleteIndeed! Or Marilyn Monroe! ;)
DeleteThe skies look amazing.... we don't offer it as much attention as we should.
ReplyDeleteThe baby duck climbing on mamma's back... absolutely adoooooorable!.... I want some ducklings, too!
Ducklings must be some of the sweetest things on earth.
DeleteWhat dramatic sky pics. Good background for some Gothic novel or something. Really great. And the little duckling, oh so sweet. I had a stuffed duck when I was little, my favourite toy. Named Duckie, of course.
ReplyDelete"Duckie" is an excellent name for a stuffed duck! :)
DeleteI have been away, and almost missed the EVENT!
ReplyDeleteThe ducklings are darling. So sweet as is "grandma" Ronna holding her grand-duck!
Beautiful sky!
I'm still hoping the last three eggs will hatch. Mama was turning them this morning.
DeleteOh my... so cute!
ReplyDeleteMore pics coming!
DeleteGreat sky pics......love them.
ReplyDeleteDuckling photos are just so cute.........look forward to seeing more as they hatch.
Claire :}
They are so much fun!!
