Not a duckling, not a monstrous bug, but kind of dramatic!

I took these photos of a rather dramatic sky about a week ago, then forgot to post them!

Beyond the hedge on the left is our front field, which is planted in spring wheat and will be beautiful this summer!

I'm working on more adorable duckling pics. Here's a super-cute one my friend Ronna took yesterday:

Climbing up on Mama's back. ADORABLE!!!

The other four ducklings are quite dark; a lot of brown, not so much yellow.

Stay tuned for further ducklings...

Cute duck/duckling photo. The cloud photos are AWEsome! Last one is my fave - love the way the sunlight defines the shape and radiates out.

  3. Now do you have water there for them to swim in?

    1. Red, for now they have a kiddy pool and also various black rubber "bowls" from the feed store (one of then is big enough for two ducks!) We have a pond on our property but it's a good half a km from the barn. We have dreams of putting a pond behind the barn eventually. For now they seem happy with their pools. Muscovy ducks don't have to have water for swimming, but they do love it. And my friend just offered us a used bathtub, which we are going to try out! :)

    2. Ok, Natalie, if you pop the ducklings into an old bathtub full of water and you do not post pictures of that event here then I swear I will unfollow this blog! ;)

  6. Lovely dramatic sky shots. Sometimes, I just walk around with my camera pointed at the sky because I usually end up with a few good pictures that way. We have had some really amazing cloudy skies lately. Ronna the duck looks so content with her baby climbing on. Sweet!

  10. What dramatic sky pics. Good background for some Gothic novel or something. Really great. And the little duckling, oh so sweet. I had a stuffed duck when I was little, my favourite toy. Named Duckie, of course.
