Poem anyone?

Looking for something to read? I have another poem up on Mused...

This is me and Nanny, my paternal grandmother and the inspiration for my poem.

I remember that kitchen very well.

Mother to six children, and the only grandparent of whom I have memories.

  1. Oh, Natalie, I just ~l.o.v.e.d.~ your poem about your grandmother---- you can tell that she taught you, simply by her example, to delight in all of Nature and in The Small, Everyday Things Of Life ............ and you can also tell, from your photos, how very much she loved you, too!

My own paternal grandmother, whom I loved so much, died (prematurely from Crohn's disease) when I was 9; then my maternal grandmother, whom I also loved very much and who was the only woman, along with my other grandmother, who ever hugged me as a child, died (after many years of having numerous diabetic/cardiac -related strokes) when I was 24.

I have very precious memories of my grandmothers, as you do of your paternal grandmother ............ and --[I swear on MY grandmothers' graves, Natalie, haha!]-- that you certainly have that SAME delightful "twinkle in your eye" that your grandmother had, [i.e., particularly in the 2nd photo, Above]! You both additionally have "eyes of kindness," i.e., I can tell, you know ............

  2. Loved your poem for your grandmother. I had the same such love with my maternal grandmother. You sure do carry the same look as her, as well as that delight in life.

  3. The photos made me smile. I think I love your grandmother. The poem brought tears to my eyes. You are gifted.

  4. What a wonderful poem! Your grandmother's life perfectly encapsulated. Thank you.

  5. I love the picture of you and your grandmother. You still look like that...very pretty. I'm going to read the poem. I am still amazed at all you do for the kitty cats. Thank you.

  6. Oh, Natalie, what a wonderful poem! I came to comment on the photographs because your grandma looks like someone I'd want to know, luckily I checked out the link. I hadn't visited your blog in awhile, and I'm shocked to hear about those people giving you a hard time. I'm likewise surprised to know there are so many cats who need help, call me naive. I'm thankful for people like you.

  7. Beautiful poem Natalie! I am saddened to think you had her for such a short time but what wonderful memories you have of her. You can see the love your grandmother had for you. ❤️
