It's getting pretty snowy in these here parts. On New Year's eve day (I think that was Monday!) I took the dogs back to the woodlot for a walk.
Before very long, I went ahead of them with my snowshoes to break a trail.
The woodlot was full of beautiful, pristine snow.
I just love it when it's like this back there. I swear the snow makes the trees look taller! Like my raccoon hat? Yes, I am nearly 49. I refuse to grow up.
Sophie looooves snow and runs around like a madwoman. Hard to believe she's 10. She hasn't slowed down one iota.
And she loves to give me ear-kisses!
Yes, there are snowshoes in there somewhere!
It's not just the dogs that use my snowshoe trail. When I go back after making one, I noticed all sorts of prints in the snow: deer, snowshoe hare, turkey, fox, coyote. The deer particularly seem to appreciate my trails, though.
Tristan the arthritic one made it all the way back to the woodlot, but he decided he needed a little lie-down before we headed back.
He just plods along and gets the job done!
We've actually gotten another couple of inches of snow since Monday, if you can imagine! Sophie and I are very happy. :)
I for one love your racoons hat!
ReplyDeleteThe snow pictures are beautiful. I got my grandson a crazy hat for Christmas; all jumbled up. Don't know what he thought.
ReplyDeleteThat looks wonderful. I love the photos of your dogs. Tristan looks so much like our old dog Chelby! They are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteNatalie...I love your hat and with one that cute, I wouldn't grow up either! The snow looks beautiful, but I like it when I can see it up on the mountains and we have nearly 50 degrees here! XOXO
ReplyDeleteLove your racoon hat!! And, either the pictures are fooling me or you really do look younger than your nearly 49 years. I can tell you're just like a kid in the snow. Your dogs are delightful!! Love that head-from-the-side photo of Sophie. Have more fun in that snow!
ReplyDeleteI just adore pictures of happy dogs. Those are great!
ReplyDeleteGreat walk with you through the snow. Some dogs seem to love snow and roll in it or root around in it.
ReplyDeleteAlways wear funny hats. Always stay forever young.
Just to be Mr Fussy pants, there's no none of the above on your poll!!!!
ReplyDeleteI've just thought of the ONLY advantage of snow; it's actually cleansing for the dogs to roll around in, rather than in the stuff they usually find!
ReplyDeleteBEAUTIFUL!!!!!
ReplyDeleteSophie is too cute in the snow!
How gorgeous! ON my bucket list is to see snow like that someday. Growing up in southern Africa (Zimbabwe & South Africa) one doesn't get to see much snow!
ReplyDeleteLove those pictures of the snow in the trees, it looks so beautiful out there.
ReplyDeleteLooks beautiful but do the dogs actually like being out in it? I bet Julius is not frolicking in the white stuff!
ReplyDeleteSophie looks super happy! She should be referred to as Snowphie in this post.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos. Wow!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos, the snow looks fabulous!
ReplyDeleteLovely
ReplyDeleteWow is right! I love trails made in virgin snow.
