Out in the Sonoran desert...

...we saw many things, and Gordon took some photos:

An abandoned ranch...

With a plea for civility...

...so many exclamation marks! Will they listen?

A long-dead saguaro cactus.

Memories of a mattress.

Unexpected flowers.

A broken-down old windmill.

Evidence of target practice. Or hunting!

And more prickly plants.

It used to be for sale, but now the ranch is off the market. it would be nice if someone restored it one day to its former glory.

  1. You can just feel the heat in these photos. Love the ones of the abandoned buildings.

  3. Your shot of the abandoned doorway would make a nice painting.

Interesting. I've never been to a desert. As a melanin-free Scot I doubt that I'd survive until nightfall.

  5. Deb, it's a dry heat! :) More bearable than humid heat, but boy it can sneak up on ya.

    Elisabeth, that's Gordon's handiwork.

Fran, you have a great eye.

Andrew, Gordon is also a melanin-free Scot. He fries like bacon, so we slather him with SPF 900 and put on his hat. :)
