Redford!
He still despises me. It probably doesn't help that I had his man-bits lopped off. He is now neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, de-flea-ed and microchipped. I let him loose in the upper barn when we got home yesterday. He polished off a big bowl of raw food. I was happy to see him streak through the barn again at bedtime. I'm still hoping he'll warm up to us as time goes by.
And the piglets are increasing in girth!

Who knew I could love pigs so much? I especially like it when they quietly come up behind me in the barn and snuffle at my ankles. They really are the sweetest, most intelligent creatures.

ReplyDeleteI'm sure with time he'll settle in and want some attention. He is a ginger boy, after-all. The pigs have really changed in looks. I'm so happy they have such a fine home.

ReplyDeleteI'm sure Redford knows that you are on his side, but he just wants to make sure you keep making the effort. But as KL says, once his manliness metabolises away he'll just turn into a big pussycat, so to speak.

ReplyDeleteI agree. Being in ranching it didn't take long to realize that pigs are smarter than cattle. They are more fun to interact with also. I can't believe that they are so big so fast. Redford looks bemused and confused in the second picture.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad he's home, mad or not, and may just turn into a sweetie pie now that he won't be out hunting the ladies. It's so kind of you both to go to that much trouble for a barn stray!

ReplyDeleteI don't think our Momcat ever forgave us for her trip to the vet, but she kindly accepts our handouts anyway : ) Redford is lucky, whether he appreciates it or not.
