Tristan got his staples out today! We are trying a t-shirt instead of his cone. Just want to make sure he leaves his incision alone before we completely give up on coning!
It's my shirt from the OSPCA Friends For Life walk. He is stylin'!
WagWagWag! I think he likes it.
Zzzzzzz!
His incision is healing really nicely and he's doing well. We'll just take it a day at a time.
Have a great weekend!
It's his colour..
ReplyDeleteGlad he's doing so well.
Another fine day for Tristan.
ReplyDeleteNo Tristan. You do not look fat in that T shirt. You look as handsome as ever!
ReplyDeleteJane x
He thanks you! :)
DeleteT SHIRTS and dogs......oh no
ReplyDeleteNow now, strictly medical, to protect the incision! :)
DeleteThey look better in them than I do
ReplyDelete"WagWagWag! I think he likes it"
ReplyDeleteActually, I am fairly sure that he thinks you have gone completely mad. 'Cone, T-Shirt... Whatever next? Sigh... I suppose I need to prepare myself for jeans or a dress, but still... She feeds me... and Gordon seems sane enough... Right, that is way too much thinking for this dog. Time for a nap.'
Very funny Andrew!
DeleteAndrew, brilliant idea! Next up, Tristan dressed for a garden party!!
DeleteWell, that's a pretty cool idea instead of the cone. I'm always amazed when I see dogs with cones and how they handle them. they seem to get used to them.
ReplyDeleteTristan really doesn't seem bothered by them, although I get pretty tired of him ramming the backs of my knees! :)
DeleteYou can pull up the hem on top of his back and knot it - then it will be a bit harder to get to the incision site. He's so cute in blue. There is a vet in Japan that takes a square of muslin and cuts 4 places inward for several inches on two opposite sides - places the animal's forelegs into the first set of opposing cuts -like leg openings - and places the belly in the middle of the rest of the muslin and brings the fabric to the top of the animal, then has 4 places to tie the ends together, one behind the neck and above the shoulders and the other three along the spine. He puts this on cats he has spayed. They look so cute in it and can't get to the incision site, and don't mind it nearly as much as a cone. I used this technique when my cat was spayed - so much nicer than that awful cone.
ReplyDeleteGreat ideas~! The musin one is brilliant. I'll have to try that!
DeleteThanks Hope I explained it well enough!
DeleteI hope he keeps on getting better. He seems quite at ease in it.
ReplyDeleteThanks Alain! He is doing very well.
DeleteLovely boy. Get well soon.
ReplyDeletePretty much back to normal now!
DeleteSo glad to see the cone of shame is gone for good!!! :)
ReplyDeleteMe too! those things drive me crazy.
DeleteI just caught up with your posts, and I'm sooooooo glad he's doing well!
ReplyDeleteThanks Monika! Hope you are having a good summer.
DeleteAww... He looks so sweet in that :-)
ReplyDeleteHe milks it for all it's worth. Rather successfully, I might add!
DeleteI would think that Tristen could still get to the incision site if he wanted to, but hopefully he will appreciate the loss of that hindersome cone and accept the t-shirt. He seems like a pretty laid back fellow.
ReplyDeleteHe did quite well and I took off the shirt after two days. Seems fine now!
DeleteI love the look on his face at the indignity of having to wear clothes like a mere human!
ReplyDelete"Why am I wearing this thing, mother?"
DeleteIt's a good look for him--the color is perfect with his fur color!
ReplyDeleteI think it's the orange-blue complementary colour thing we have going on there!! :)
DeleteTristan is adorable. And royal blue is definitely his color.
ReplyDeleteHe agrees with you!
DeleteAw Tristan, you look so much happier now. :)
ReplyDeleteHe is so content these days. Nice to see.
DeleteI expect and hope he now feels a whole lot better without the big lump inside of him. He has a look that just makes me want to hug him.
DeleteHe looks good in blue. He could start a fashion trend.
ReplyDeleteHe'll be the talk of the neighbourhood!
DeleteTristan you look very good in blue !
ReplyDeleteGlad that you heal up nicely :)
He thanks you! :)
DeleteHe's rocking that t-shirt!
