Blue on the outside, tasty on the inside!

My new hens are doing an egg-cellent job of producing little blue and green beauties...

I love all the colours in this carton!

And the sunset the other night made for some pretty colours on the landscape next door...

The snow is still sloooowly melting. We got some rain last night, but now they are saying it may snow on Friday. Let's hope not.

On a less thrilling note, I just got called for jury duty selection. While I believe in doing my duty and going there, I'm still hoping I won't get picked! Sadly, I am not automatically disqualified by virtue of being a lawyer's wife. Still, it might be interesting. We'll see what happens. Gordon says that down in Cornwall, most jury trials involve either sexual assault or murder. Ugh....

But I'll cross that bridge when I come to it! In the meantime, I'll keep communing with the ducks and chickens. :)

  1. Beautiful colours in both pics. Jury duty scares the pants off me.If I disagreed with the other jurors I think I'd have a hard time explaining myself.I'd feel as though I'd done something wrong.

Just did a mock jury trial for which I was jury foreman. Very interesting, very educational. Of no real consequence as it was "mock" - practice for the plaintiff's lawyers.

  4. What great eggs. And, here's crossed fingers for not making the cut.

  5. Those eggs have stunning color, and the rust-colored one on the far end is HUGE. You clearly have very healthy hens.

    1. I'm not entirely sure who laid that whopper. I figure it must have been one of the older sex links!!

  6. I've done jury service twice. It is quite interesting if you get on a jury but, in England anyway, lots of sitting about otherwise. Take some knitting.

    1. Hmm, I wonder if they will let me knit? I will definitely take my knitting bag. Good advice!

  7. Pretty fancy eggs! Now I expect a report on the taste of each one and comparisons too.
Jury duty? I've been called twice. Once they formed a jury before I was called and the second time the guy changed his option and went for trial by judge alone. It's an interesting process.

    1. So far they all taste the same inside! But I get a kick of having blue and green eggs in the fridge.

You've certainly done your (jury) duty!

What pretty eggs! Never got called to jury duty until I turned 50. Four times in five years (haven't had the call in the past couple of years). I think my blunt nature tends to scare the lawyers off ...

    1. Wow, you've gotten called a lot! Always good to scare the lawyers, in my opinion. ;)

  9. Egg production here is minimal; I'm considering sharpening the axe! I've always wanted to do jury service, but have never been invited.

  13. Amazing lit by sunset view.

I was the Foreman of a Jury. I stood up and relieved a very troubled looking man by calling out "Not Guilty... Unanimous" five times for the five counts he was up for. There were elements of interest and elements of incompetent farce on the part of the Crown prosecution service. It was certainly an eye-opener.

  14. I hope you don't get stuck at one of those really tedious, involved trials that take forever!

  15. Those eggs look really pretty.

When I got called for jury service all the cases kept getting called off... And then when a case got called several members of the jury had connections to the judge. Very complicated!

  16. Hey Natalie, nice to have farm fresh eggs....my hens are off the lay at the moment, but fortunately I can get eggs from a friend who has hens. Love the blue shells, I used to have an Aracuana and the colour of the shells matched the colour of my kitchen tiles......was a good joke to tell city loving friends, I bought the hen for that very reason!!
Jury duty...never been called....think I 'd just walk in to jury selection and say 'they're guilty........' hopefully that would do the tridk!!....
