So many Santas, so little time

Let me just say, for the LIFE OF ME, I cannot find the one childhood pic I have of me and Santa. I know that as soon as I post, this I'm going to find it. It's in the house, but my photo albums are all in boxes because of the renos we're doing. Pffft! Annnyway, when I find it, I'll post it.

Meanwhile, I realized that I have quite a few photos involving Santa and/or animals and/or me!

Last year of course we had Charlotte the chicken with Santa...

Same again this year. The professional version is waiting for me to pick it up at the OSPCA! I'll post that when I get it, too.

I can't for the life of me remember when or why I Photoshopped this, or whether or not it's already on my blog...

????

Back when we lived in British Columbia, we took our English Setter Tara to another "pet pics with Santa"  fundraiser for our local shelter....

 2004... I think. I also think Santa is missing a "y" chromosome!

We also volunteered as a "Big Couple" for Big Brothers Big Sisters, and had our photo taken with Santa at the holiday party in 2005....

I think Santa looks TOTALLY HAMMERED.

And in 2007, the years we adopted Alex from the Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry OSPCA, I took him back to get his photo taken with Santa. Except he was so freaked out, I had to get a death grip on him to make sure he didn't crawl up Santa's face to the ceiling...

Meanwhile, it's December 10th and have I sent out my Christmas/holiday cards yet? No. Have I designed them yet? No. Printed them out? NO! But on the up side, I do have the whole concept laid out in my  head. I'll try to get it done tomorrow.

I always design my own cards, which get whackier and whackier every year. (I'm pretty sure 75% of the recipients have no clue what the cards mean! ) They also get sent out later and later every year, but at least I get them in the mailbox by Christmas eve. I could set a new low this year!

Here is the front of last year's card, for your amusement...

And HAPPY CHANUKAH to all my Jewish friends! Please send me latkes.

oxoxoxoxo

And here's some Christmas music for you. I found this last year. Talented teenager from Winnipeg turns into internet sensation...

And you know he's a true Canadian, wearing shorts in the snow!

  2. Your composite card with all the animals is brilliant! I had to smile at the drummers legs with all the hairs standing upright. We poor humans are so under-equipped for the cold!

PS I was banned from seeing Santa after I kicked him when he asked me to sit on his knee.

  4. My daughter was involved with the Santa pictures here with her Schnauzer, Maggie. A very worthwhile event.
Impressed with your Christmas card. It really puts my little old letter to shame.

  5. I just noticed that Santa never looks a year older. That's it!I'm moving to the North Pole. Love every one of your cards. They sure beat Hallmark and Pierre Belvedere. Another enterprise you would be good in.

  8. I was once on a plane that had to make an emergency landing in Winnipeg, in February. It's the only time I've ever been to Canada, sadly, but I've never seen so much snow in my life. Hardy folks indeed.

    Love the card!

  9. Oh, how I enjoyed this! Great photos through the years and the last "card" is a riot (or do they say "a hoot" in Canada like they do in Minnesota?)...

(By the way, in MY own mind I'm also still a fat brunette from Ohio... And I love fruitcake!)

    1. I'm bilingual; I say riot AND hoot!

Ah, and you're from the opposing fruitcake camp. YOu and Gordon both! Occasionally I break down and make him fruitcake, but then he has to eat it all himself. Not that he complains!

  10. So many santas. But I am astonished at the eloquence of the cats.. even if the cats seem to be forthright!
