After I made that squash soup the other day, but before I made the soap I posted about yesterday, I made MUFFINS!
Delicious Apple Cinnamon Crumb Muffins...
I got the recipe from Two Peas and Their Pod. There are many recipes there that I want to try! Gordon said these were his favourite muffins of all time. I made them with local apples.
My friend Ronna brought us back these adorable handtowels from San Francisco. One is a bee-boy for Gordon, and the girl in red high heels is for me!
But back to muffins...
The crunchy topping was oh-so-tasty!
For some reason, I've been in the mood to bake lately. For the last year or so, cooking and baking have been annoying the hell out of me. Good thing I have a hubby who likes to cook! I think I just needed a break. I started cooking meals when I was 10, and my divorced mother worked. But I love to eat and some recipes have been calling to me lately...
Enjoy your Sunday!
These look amazing...still waiting on some fudge lol
ReplyDeleteBTW: Made the soup, fabulous...big hit here :)
Really? I'm so pleased! Like I said, I was dubious about the recipe because it looked a little too simple, but I think good fresh ingredients make the difference!
DeleteThey look great!

I'm about to polish off the last one. I did give away four, but that means Gordon and I demolished, er, EIGHT in three days. Oops.
DeleteThey do look amazing. Oh well, back to my toast.
ReplyDeleteToast is good too!
DeleteApple and Crumb...two of my favorite combinations! Muffins are a great way to start the morning, have with tea in the afternoon, or cozy up by the fire at night; I can see where you and Gordon could demolished 8 in three days:-D
ReplyDeleteHe made the best apple crisp the other night with Cortland apples. I'm craving more!
DeleteThey look fabulous! I've never been much of a dessert cook but suddenly, when I reached my 80s, I just wanted to try crumble and muffin recipes, every week. I usually eat only one muffin (to make sure it's edible!). And when my son visits, he takes the rest home and share with friends and people at work. They call me the Muffin Mom! Thanks for the link.
ReplyDeleteYour son and his co-workers are so lucky!!
DeleteThose towels are the bee's knees. And feature them as well. I will do anything not to cook, and that includes boiling water. However, I admire everyone who does. All praise to the cook.
ReplyDeleteI really appreciate all the cooking Gordon does, and he does a MUCH nicer plate presentation than I do!
DeleteAfter soup, muffins are my favorite.
ReplyDeleteDo you like savoury muffins? I used to make some cheddar/scallion ones that were good with soup!
DeleteI was cooking family meals by the time I was ten. It was always the same menu, boiled or fried potatoes, fried meat and canned vegetables. Yesterday, we had the first rainy day in months and it put me in the mood to bake. I made a batch of oatmeal cookies. It's rainy again today and your muffins look so yummy I'm fighting the urge to make some.
ReplyDeleteYum yum, oatmeal cookies!!!
DeleteFor someone who doesn't like to cook, you're doing really good! Those look delicious!
ReplyDeleteI do looooove to eat!!
DeleteI've been in a baking mood too - there must be something in the air. My brother is the cook/baker in our family. The food I make is edible, but nothing special.
ReplyDeleteReally I just want to EAT, but sometimes that requires me being the baker! :) Sometimes I con Gordon into it.
DeleteThey sure looks tasty , say´s my human :)
ReplyDeleteThe towels are very cute <3
Luckily my mom likes to cook , since my dad is a disaster in the kitchen *mol*
Many Dads are!! ;)
Deletemmmmmmm spiced muffins are perfect for fall!
ReplyDeleteAs the days get shorter, my baking gene kicks in...
DeleteWhat a delightful gift to receive! I'm heading over to check out the muffin recipe. ~ Maureen
ReplyDeleteGordon made them again last Friday!
DeleteNow I seriously need some muffins. If I tried to make them, they'd probably end up tasting like your soap.
ReplyDeleteOh come now! Otoh, I think that soap might taste pretty good..
