Here's the honeybee I mentioned in my last post. Bees have pollen "baskets" on their rear legs. These ones were stuffed to bursting...
She was taking nectar from the dandelion too.
Look how the yellow pollen is sticking to her hairy little body!
And here's another honeybee dusted with gold:
Off she goes to find another flower!
Bumblebees love dandelions too.
As does this stripey little fly guy!

That fly looked scary! Does it mimic bees to keep from being eaten?
ReplyDeleteI'm sure it does! Other insects use that yellow/black combo to ward off predators!
