There seems to be a demand for duckling photos, so here are some more from yesterday!
Little Twitchy taking an afternoon nap. I think she's a girl, but that's based on gut instinct, not scientific evidence. Time will tell!
Mama Ronna giving her babies an impromptu shower.
Mama gets out, a little one gets in!
An afternoon swim in the sun with friends. What more could you ask for?
Instinct is amazing. They just know how to stay afloat.
Mama Ronna got good and soaked yesterday and seemed very pleased about it all!
Duckadorable!
"Now children, this is fresh grass and it's very yummy! Eat up!"
"Hey! What are you doing up there?!"
Mama Ronna shows the little one who to have a proper bath.
I really enjoy watching these guys interact. Mama Ronna has a very strong, protective mothering instinct and I love watching her teach the babies and herd them around, then tuck them up under her wings and belly when they're all tuckered out and need a nap.
Had enough ducklings yet? :)
Never have enough ducklings!!! NEVER!
ReplyDeleteI got more photos comin'!
DeleteNo, but I do miss Emily.
ReplyDeleteI love keeping up with the ducklings! I'm surprised to see how individual their markings are. That's nice for keeping track of them, especially Twitchy. The photo of her napping is just precious.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking I should name them all, because I can tell them apart, but I can't sex ducklings!!
DeleteMore please :) ..... a lot more :)))
ReplyDeleteCan I have one or two or all of them?
More coming! :)
DeleteIt would be impossible to have enough ducklings! Great photos, especially of Twitchy. Just wondering though - are you going to name the rest of them?
ReplyDeleteYes, I need to all the ducklings, not to mention the two girl ducks I have sadly neglected to name!
DeleteNot nearly enough! More please!
ReplyDeleteThey are adorable. I can look at them for hours. Have a nice weekend with your small friends.
ReplyDeleteHugs

Thank you ELna!
DeleteWonderful duckling photos - they are like little bits of thistledown, but much more beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThey really are the cutest things on the planet.
DeleteThe ducklings are super sweet, but I love the mug-shot of Mama Ronna. She does look pleased, and totally obsessed with her family. The contrast between Mama and babies is pretty striking - the beautiful ducklings growing up to be - er - the not quite so beautiful mama?, or at least beautiful in a very different way.But she's doing a great job of showing those babies all they need to know. Always makes me smile to see the family.
ReplyDeleteI am so impressed with the mothering skills of ducks! They are such good mothers. It's quite heart-warming to watch them with their little ones.
DeleteI love your captioning of the photo with mama instructing the ducklings to eat grass - that cracked me right up! I agree with other commenters - you can never, ever have too many duckling photos!!
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing how she teaches them. :)
DeleteNo more mouthwatering Duck eating ideas!!!!!!!!! I am just a weakling when it comes to your little ones. They are so adorable.
ReplyDeleteYay! I finally broke you!
DeleteCuteness overload! Quack quack.
ReplyDeleteOccupational hazard around here! :)
DeleteYour blog make me smile!
ReplyDeleteTHat makes me happy!
DeleteThey look even cuter with water droplets on them! These are my favourite photos of them.
ReplyDeleteThey sure do love the water.
