I am overdue with some of these photos. Our friends Willie and Sue visited a couple of weeks back, and they brought dog and cat treats! (Note: neither Willie nor Sue is one of the furry beasts referred to in this blog post's title!)
As you can see, Willie was very popular with the residents.
How many animals can you count in this photo (excluding Willie!)
Dorkus, aka Tristan, did his adorable routine. He gets more goodies by being cute.
I'm sure the pets all love Willie for more than just his treats. Can you see all four cats? Naomi is on Willie's leg, Julius is on the right, Emily is on the coffee table, and Alex is just showing on the floor between Emily and Julius! And Tristan braved the cat infestation, and was duly rewarded.
Three expectant felines. You would think we never fed them! Emily looks as big as Julius in this pic, but she's not. It's all in the perspective.
Tristan got lots of chest rubs fro Auntie Sue.
"This man smells like kitty treats. Come on Kitties, let's circle his head like giant rodents until he forks over!"
"Do YOU have treats for us?"
"I like treats, but chest rubs are good too!"
Yes, a good time was had by all. And Willie brought us his fabulous homemade cinnamon buns!
Today, there were still plenty o' cats in the family room...
Emily was lording it over the sleeping Alex. She is queen of all she surveys.
Alex was keeping an eye on me.
Emily is five months old now and has a beautiful coat.
Not to mention huge ears.
She knows she's gorgeous and uses it to her advantage. Why, I barely even yelled at her yesterday when she knocked a potted plant off a windowsill.
I tell you, four cats get along better than three. Things are going really well with this crowd, knock wood.
Julius perfects his look of disdain. He is really very good at making you feel utterly insignificant.
"I vant to be alone!"
Emily has an interesting daily ritual. She insists on being in the bathroom when I have my morning shower. She then spends the whole time parading back and forth on the bathtub ledge, between the inner and outer shower curtains, while I lather up. As soon as I turn the water off, she starts meowing in a panicked voice, until I wrap myself up in a towel, sit on the tub edge, and let her head butt my face. What on earth is all this about? She is fascinated by water but has yet to leap into the tub. She's such a funny little cat.
Hope you enjoyed your feast of furry beasts!
LOVED the fur-fest!!! Miss Emily must have some bengal in her, I think.
ReplyDeleteMy Rupert is just as anxious when I'm in the shower, he paces outside the stall until I emerge and pet him.
Deb from Just Cats thinks she's got Bengal in her too. I have looked up Bengal personality traits and EMily has every one of them. It's freaky.
DeleteWhat is it with cats getting antsy when their humans have showers??
a pile of animals in a home.......they MAKE a home
ReplyDeleteAMen to that!!!
DeleteI thought it was a movie review of Bruce Lee's "Fists of Fury" for a moment, until it looked a lot like my house. We don't call them "animals" anymore. They are "fur persons".
ReplyDeleteYes, I think "fur-children" is what we call them here these days. :) What would we do without them?
DeleteMy kind of home! Except I don't want any cat treats, thank you.
ReplyDeleteOne of our cats waits for me the whole time I'm in the shower, then when I have finished she screams until the fan is turned off...she didn't notice when I was in the shower?
Jane x
Another hilarious cat/shower story. THere's definitely something to this!!
DeleteI certainly would enjoy the human treats. Homemade cinnamon buns sound heavenly. Great photos and family time!
ReplyDeleteThanks Claude. I wish you were closer so I could share the buns with you!
DeleteHave you noticed Bambi's face on Emily's back?
ReplyDeleteI hadn't, but now I do!!! Wow!
DeleteI could do some serious begging for cinnamon buns. Visitors do not see my cats. Samson taught the other two to hide when a strange car comes in the driveway. Your pets are very photogenic!
ReplyDeleteJanet, in the past I always seemed to have cats that hid when visitors arrived. Julius was one of them, but he has come out of his shell. but Alex, Naomi and Emily have no fear. It's kind of nice. I was used to scaredy-cats.
DeleteSamson is a great name for a cat.
A plethora of kitties... plus 2 dogs! That's my idea of heaven.
ReplyDeletePerfect disdain look on Julius. "What you again? Can't we get any privacy around here?"
Don't fall for it. We looooooveee the pix!
Julius really wishes he were an only child!
DeleteSomeone is popular with the pets!
ReplyDeleteHe who smells of cat treats attracts cats! But Willie and Sue are cat people. They recently adopted a lovely 18-lb kitty who had been in the shelter for a year. THey went to the shelter looking for a cat and said "Who has been here the longest?" and took him home. He is one lucky cat!!!
DeleteAdorable photos. And I thought it very brave of you to put "head," "butt," and "face" all in one sentence. : )
ReplyDeleteHahaha! I like to live on the edge!
