Spurtle

I have a new friend in the kitchen.

Meet my Scottish oatmeal spurtle!

It's used stir oatmeal and prevent it fro becoming lumpy (those are sliced bananas I just stirred in, not lumps!)

I got it at the Cattails Woodwork Shop on Etsy.

Once the oatmeal was done, I got out some of the maple syrup I helped my friend Eugene make last spring.

Gordon enjoyed oatmeal with bananas, coconut, pecans, cinnamon and syrup.

No lumps! Nummy!

    1. I think the only naughty bit is the maple syrup, but now I hear maple syrup is good for you! Anti-oxidant or something like that.

  6. A Scottish friend of my mother brought one to us when I was a teenager and i just loved the word! Mind you, it took quite a few years after that before she actually used it!
I eat oatmeal as part of my muesli these days. But still use the old fashioned groats.
