I have a new friend in the kitchen.
Meet my Scottish oatmeal spurtle!
It's used stir oatmeal and prevent it fro becoming lumpy (those are sliced bananas I just stirred in, not lumps!)
I got it at the Cattails Woodwork Shop on Etsy.
Once the oatmeal was done, I got out some of the maple syrup I helped my friend Eugene make last spring.
Gordon enjoyed oatmeal with bananas, coconut, pecans, cinnamon and syrup.
No lumps! Nummy!
Wow that is a great tool, that is for sure. That Oatmeal is making our Mom very hungry. We might have to go fix some of that yummy stuff. Hope all of you have a great day.
ReplyDeleteYou too Marg!
DeleteOh, good! A new Scrabble word for me.
ReplyDeleteGordon's oatmeal. . . is that breakfast or dessert?! :)
Now THAT is my kind of breakfast!

Sticks to the ribs!
DeleteThat is oatmeal with style! I have mine with apricots and prunes. It is a great start to the day. Don't you just love that word - spurtle?
ReplyDeleteI do! It sounds a little rude. ;)
DeleteWow! That's a decadent dessert for breakfast!
ReplyDeleteI think the only naughty bit is the maple syrup, but now I hear maple syrup is good for you! Anti-oxidant or something like that.
DeleteA Scottish friend of my mother brought one to us when I was a teenager and i just loved the word! Mind you, it took quite a few years after that before she actually used it!
ReplyDeleteI eat oatmeal as part of my muesli these days. But still use the old fashioned groats.
THat's cool you had one, Elisabeth!
DeleteIs there an on/off switch on that spurtle?
ReplyDeleteHahahahaha! You're bad. But funny!!
DeleteYes, when your arm gets tired: it's off.
DeleteI don´t know if I would think that oatmeal thing , but my mom thought it looked really jummy :)
ReplyDeleteMaybe with some sardines, it would be tasty for cats!
DeleteJono beat me to it. AA batteries required?
ReplyDeleteDOes fine on one "D"!

Oh, *that's* what a spurtle is! I thought you'd got a pet turtle or something! :D
ReplyDeleteAround here, anything is possible!
DeleteLove your new spurtle...love the name of it too!
ReplyDeleteMe too! I should look up how they came up with the name.
DeleteHey Great! I found somebody else who likes oatmeal! You do some fancy stuff with your oatmeal. You give me some good ideas. I like raisins and molasses with my oatmeal.
ReplyDeleteBlueberries and coconut are good, and bananas, hey, I even tried avocado once and it wasn't too disgusting! :)
DeleteScottish technology at its finest
ReplyDeleteHmmm... that' s not really saying much, is it??
