Here is the bat brochure I designed and illustrated for the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry Stewardship Council. Gordon is on the council and this was his project. He wrote the text for the brochure, and his project involves installing bat houses at selected spots in our area. If you click on the images, they should enlarge enough to be readable!
The printed brochure has three folds, but that doesn't work so well in a blog post, so these are the front and back pages spread out instead of in panels.

Bats need our help!
You and Gordon did a great job on this brochure. I've seen bat houses for sale in our local garden shops this summer for the first time.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great brochure on bats. We have tons of bats that come out in the evening and I love watching them as they fly around our cottage. There are so many bat places for them to hide and nest, we haven't felt any need to put up bat houses. I don't think people really understand how important they are.

ReplyDeleteExcellent brochure; we have lots of bats by our house on the edge of the desert.
My family keep our bats in our belfry, our skeletons in the closet, any light we may acquire under a bushel and our Stilton cheeses in the pantry under a stout scullery maid. Until that scandalous business with great uncle Eugene, the Postmistress and a ball of fuzzy twine we also used to keep ourselves to ourselves.

I didn't have a clue about bats. I would be a bit reluctant to house them. But this brochure is very informative, and extremely well presented. Congratulations!

ReplyDeletePilgrim,you must get some great bats down where you are! I suspect they have more habitat, too. Bat habitat is being destroyed here. It's a problem, hence the bathouses. Glad you like the brochure!

Claude, the good thing about a well-placed bathouse is that it gives them an alternative to living in the eaves/attic of your house! :)
