Got out the Nikon today to take some real photos of the new babies. My photography assistant (aka Gordon) was away at work, so you get to see a lot of my hand.
The black one . . . he probably would be really tasty grilled, maybe basted with garlic and truffle oil. Maybe some fried rice and mushroom sauce on the side.
'Cept you'd have to be picking out the tiny bones.
I guess I'll have to wait until he's a bit bigger.
Tarragon is a definite maybe . . . I can just see those tiny tasty wings basted in a nice crème fraîche sauce with a bit of cognac and a nice chiffonade of tarragon and lots of garlic.
Snowy, baby, fatten yourself up pronto! I hear FedEx ships cold-packed livestock fairly cheaply. Knat, put me on the list!
I'll send you all my Canadian Tire money if you do. It's a lot.
Much as I love Canadian Tire money, Chef Nick, I love my chicks more. No can do! However, I could Fedex you eggs once the girls are big enough to start laying.
Notice how it's the MEN who want to eat the chicks, and the WOMEN who think they are cute and cuddly and deserving of protection?
So what are you going to name them? How about Demerara, Muscovado, and Turbinado?
ReplyDeleteOoh. I rather like those. But no "Caster" or "Icing."
ReplyDeleteawwwwwwwwwwwww....cute overload! It's a pity they grow up.
ReplyDeleteSuper cute! Thanks for posting :-)
ReplyDeleteAwwwsome little chicklets. Our neighbour used to have red hens; the eggs were delicious. Soon you will have home-grown eggs and honey.

ReplyDeleteDon't you know that garlic would overpower such tender meat? How about various herbs and butter? Maybe a nice tarragon butter...
:)
HWB, you are a bad, bad, bad man! Bad!
ReplyDeletePrecious.
ReplyDeleteSuch evil thoughts!
They are too cute for words. You'll really enjoy your fresh eggs.

ReplyDeleteYour bee balm is gorgeous and I'm beyond jealous of your lush garden. If you weren't a couple thousand miles away, I'd be up there to visit you.
